Music Heals…

I've been teaching piano, acting and voice for over 30 years and I love it. It is one of the most joyful and fun parts of my life. I have taught in public and private schools and theater organizations in Brooklyn, NYC and San Francisco including: the FOGG theater company, the French American School and The Actors Institute.

In recent years I have been teaching private lessons at home and online with students ages 7-75.

I am also a seasoned performing artist delighting in material from Shakespeare to new plays and musical theater. I love to be on stage.

Lessons available in person and online:

My approach to teaching music is rooted in fun and joy. Lessons are guided by the students interests and natural talents. I create a relaxed and focused environment where students learn foundational skills to thrive as a musician.

Voice lessons:

I specialize in mentoring and coaching each student to strengthen their natural voice as well as stretch their ability to sing what they would like to sing. We balance advanced and foundational techniques, depending on the students goals. My vocal education is rooted in classical music, choir & musical theater. Students are encouraged to bring any type of music they want to practice and sing.

Beginning Piano Lessons:
I've been playing piano for 50 years and love to teach. I specialize in teaching piano to beginners of all ages. Lessons focus on reading music, learning basic theory, playing chords to sing or accompany others and playing by ear. Each lesson is devoted to nourishing the student's love of music and respecting their style of learning. Having fun and experiencing joy in the process is my style.

Alice has taught my daughter since she was 6, she is now 10 and has demonstrated an amazing ability to relate to and work with young children supporting their growth at such a key time in their development. We’ve referred her to other parents that we know and they have provided similar feedback around her ability to cultivate a great environment for kids and keep them engaged.
