I am a facilitator for group experiences and 1:1 healing work with the consulting organization: Joy Channel.
We offer Liberation work which for me is a lifelong commitment to practicing activities and actions that create conditions for freedom from oppression.
This work includes:
• Explicit decolonizing practices
• Co-creating with marginalized groups
• Dismantling systemic injustices with actions
• Being an anti-racist and acting accordingly
• Creating ideal conditions for humans to thrive
The work I do with Joy Channel and beyond is rooted in Liberation for ALL and Reproductive Freedom for ALL. (Newsflash: We ALL come from a mama female body. Just sayin’)
Using laughter and fun are guiding principles for our work. The results of this approach are WAY more effective than just a powerpoint or a lecture. We practice having fun while moving through conversations about deeply excruciating and painful realities. We party (shall we say) in the midst of madness.
And we are serious about this: ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’ thing.
We use our creative savvy to help organizations and individuals disrupt current models of thinking by building understanding of the effects of institutional, systemic and interpersonal oppression. In this process humans are invited to change their behaviors to support liberation rather than block it.
Community healing happens in relationships with other human beings. Not alone on a screen. We focus on team-building and intimate interpersonal skills to make sure what is learned gets applied and integrated.
As a community, we acknowledge we are living in a white dominated, patriarchal, cis-gendered cultural environment that we were born into and are committed to the lifetime work of education and repair for ourselves and our community from the harm done and the harm continued to be done.
Working with me individually or in a group is open to humans who resonate with this fact including cis and trans women as well as nonbinary people. We continue to do the individual and collective work to create an atmosphere of authentic inclusivity.
